Report: Wars Costing $12 Billion a Month

The boost in troop levels in Iraq has increased the cost of war there and in Afghanistan to $12 billion a month, and the total for Iraq alone is nearing a half-trillion dollars, congressional analysts say.

Now, keep in mind:

At one dollar a second (that's $3600 an hour) it would take about 11.5 days to spend one million dollars. But it would take about 32 years to spend one billion dollars. And it would take almost 32,000 years to spend one trillion dollars.

$12 billion a month?

Half-trillion spent in Iraq alone?

Think of what good that money could have been used for.
